The Hidden Dangers Of Black Market Weight Loss Injections, And Why Reprogramming Our Minds For Lasting Change Is Even More Important Today As This Evil Black Market Expands Into 2025.

As a Clinical Hypnotherapist specialising in weight loss, I’ve seen firsthand the lengths to which people go to when they are desiring a slimmer body.  Many people have turned to Hypnotherapy having learned that the Gastric Band isn’t successful because it’s one thing shrinking the size of your stomach, but who are you gonna call when stress kicks in or grief calls to your door down the road?  The Gastric Band or these  weight loss injections are not going to suddenly stop you from eating your way through a traumatic event in your life unless of course you have dealt with it on a subconscious level aswell.  This is not to say that there are no success stories of a Gastric Band, but in my experience having had clients come through these procedures, they still turn to Hypnotherapy because the root cause of their emotional eating is still embedded in their Subconscious mind.

One of the most alarming trends at the moment is the increasing use of weight loss injections, often obtained from unregulated sources on the black market. These products promise quick fixes but often come with dangerous risks.

The Black Market Trap

Weight loss injections, such as semaglutide or liraglutide, have gained popularity in recent years for their ability to suppress appetite and help shedding some pounds. While these medications can be effective under medical supervision, obtaining them through unofficial channels is a recipe for disaster.

Black market products may be counterfeit, contaminated, or improperly dosed, leading to serious health risks like:

Infections from unsanitary manufacturing conditions.

Allergic reactions due to unknown or harmful ingredients.

Overdoses or ineffective treatment from incorrect dosages.

Lack of professional guidance, which is critical when dealing with medications that impact metabolic and hormonal systems.

Relying on these injections without addressing the root cause of weight gain can not only lead to a dangerous cycle of dependency and frustration, but can also lead to hospitalisation as seen here in Ireland in recent months as people are purchasing these products on the black market.

The Subconscious Connection to Weight Loss

Here’s the hard truth: injections, surgeries, and fad diets can only go so far. If we don’t address the subconscious patterns driving our eating habits, these measures are merely BandAid solutions. Emotional eating, stress, and ingrained habits are often the real culprits behind weight gain.

Through hypnotherapy, we can help willing client to reprogramme their subconscious mind to work better for them for instance:

Eliminate emotional eating by identifying and addressing the triggers that lead to overeating.

Feel motivated to exercise and drink more water.

Create healthier habits that align with long-term wellness goals.

Develop a positive relationship with food, removing guilt and shame.

By focusing on the root causes of overeating, we create sustainable change, without relying on risky shortcuts.

Why Eating Less and Eating Healthier Matters

For weight loss to be truly effective and lasting, we must embrace healthier eating patterns. Cutting calories shouldn’t feel like deprivation, it’s about convincing our mind that we actually want to nourish our body with the right foods in the right amounts. When we combined with subconscious reprogramming, this approach leads t

Reduced cravings for unhealthy foods.

A sense of control over eating habits.

Improved mental and physical health.

The recent RTÉ broadcast "RTÉ Investigates: Black Market Weight Loss" highlighted alarming issues surrounding the illegal trade of weight-loss medications in Ireland. These drugs, primarily prescription-only medications, are being sold through unregulated channels, posing significant health risks to users.

Key concerns that were raised on the programme include:

  1. Lack of Regulation: Medications obtained on the black market bypass medical oversight, meaning users do not receive proper dosage guidance or monitoring for side effects.
  2. Counterfeit Products: Many drugs sold online or through illicit means are counterfeit, potentially containing harmful or unknown substances.
  3. Exploitation of Vulnerable Individuals: People desperate for quick weight loss solutions are often targeted, with little regard for their safety or well-being.  People who are trying to lose weight are extremely vulnerable because their self esteem is already low and they feel helpless and will do almost anything to lose the weight that has been a result of their emotional eating habits.

The investigation revealed how easily these drugs are accessed through online platforms and social media. Some weight loss medications, such as semaglutide-based treatments, have surged in popularity but are strictly regulated due to their potential risks, including severe gastrointestinal issues and cardiovascular concerns when misused.  Even recent research on Ozempic (Semaglutide, which is legal and primarily used for patients with Diabetes) has been proven to be harmful.

Here are some of the many side effects of taking Ozempic as a weight loss medication…

  • Gastrointestinal issues like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea
  • Constipation
  • Stomach pain
  • Headache
  • Excessive burping
  • Heartburn
  • Fatigue
  • Flatulence
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease

The most common side effects of Ozempic are typically mild and often subside as your body gets used to the medication. However, there is a risk of more severe adverse reactions, including:

  • Vision problems
  • Swelling in extremities
  • Dizziness or fainting
  • Reduced urination
  • Rash
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Swelling of throat, tongue, mouth, face, or eyes
  • Problems swallowing or breathing
  • Fever
  • Yellow eyes or skin
  • Chronic upper stomach pain
  • Kidney problems

The programme also highlights the importance of addressing the root causes of weight issues, such as emotional eating through sustainable and holistic methods. As a clinical hypnotherapist, this aligns with my approach to helping clients reprogramme their subconscious mind in relation to habits and emotional triggers around food and motivation to move more.  Focusing on long-term behavioural change, rather than relying on risky shortcuts, ensures not just safer outcomes but also lasting well-being.
